#15 - Top 20 Influential Albums

If you have 45 minutes and 42 seconds of spare time today, I urge you to give this epic Bluesy album a listen! It will energise your day and leave a great big smile on your face. At least, that's what happens when I listen to it!

We briefly lived in a space called Sowerby Bridge, one of the most depressing towns on on earth. BUT it was in Sowerby Bridge that we randomly took a punt on going out to see a live band that we'd never heard of. I think the year was 2011, our eldest daughter was still a baby so we got a sitter and excitement was high for a night out.

Vintage Trouble were formed in Hollywood, California so the poor guys probably wondered where the heck they had landed when they were ushered in a play at a dank little pub in the pits of a little Yorkshire town. For one night only though, little old Sowerby Bridge was lit up with pure energy thanks you these angels on the stage.

I've never seen a band perform with more gusto. How Ty Taylor can fling himself around and still hit each note perfectly should be one of the seven wonders of the world. The whole band is so incredibly tight and talented, we were left astonished.

It's hard to transfer that stage energy onto recoded music but I think they do a decent job of it with this album. I would love to see them in the flesh again one day, there's nothing quite like live music.

We must say a massive thanks to Ben Adey, the fella organised getting them there to play, and ultimately, lightening up our lives. The song Nancy Lee inspired our youngest daughter's name.
